Light Requirements
•    Full sun (6 or more hours of direct sunlight a day) to partial shade (2 to 6 hours of direct sunlight part of the day).

Soil Preference
•    Requires moist to occasionally wet drainage conditions.
•    Thrives in humus-rich, sandy, gravelly, or clay soil textures.
•    Prefers an acidic soil pH (< 6.0).

Note on Moisture: As a native wetland species, its leaves may scorch if the soil is allowed to dry out.

•    Pollinator Forage: The large dome-shaped summer flower clusters attract many butterflies and bees, including swallowtails, fritillaries, skippers, bumblebees, and carpenter bees.

Resistance to Challenges
•    Mammals & Coastal Elements: Highly deer resistant and uniquely tolerant of salt exposure.
•    Environmental/Disease Stress: Features strong tolerance to wet soils and is completely resistant to powdery mildew.
•    Pest & Disease Resilience: Reliable with no significant insect or disease problems recorded.
