'Somerset' Hazelnut

'Somerset' demonstrates resistance to EFB (through the 'Ratoli' gene), compact form with a slightly spreading growth habit.  Comes in a 2 gallon pot, plant is 1-3ft.

Yield: High-yielding

Nuts: Small to medium (12-13mm), round, and ~55% kernel by weight

Bloom time: Early to mid-season in NJ

Nut abscission (when they fall to the ground): First half of September

Compatible pollinizers: ‘Monmouth’, The Beast' ™‘Slate’, ‘Gene’, and ‘Grand Traverse’
