'Sunflower' Pawpaw

'Sunflower' is an old friend among pawpaw breeders. Selected by Mr. Milo Gibson in Kansas. It has produced many excellent offspring including 'Prima' (1216). This cultivar is believed to be self-fertile, though KSU has conflicting information on this. Fruits ripen mid-September through October.

Fruit: Medium-large; ~5.5oz.

Seed: Reported to have low seed-weight

Flavor: Very sweet, classic pawpaw flavor; does have a mildly bitter aftertaste

Color at ripeness: Yellow with a bit of green
